Multi Agency Campaign Forum
Our first forum proved a great success. A variety of agencies who work within the realm of homelessness and/or prison rehabilitation met to brainstorm and discuss every-day challenges they faced. The agencies in attendance were:
Proactive Kent
Proactive Medway
Seetec
Lloyds Bank Social Housing
Department of Work and Pensions
Together Canterbury
Housing Options Canterbury City Council
Pathways to Independence
Catching Lives
Jonathan Clifton spoke for us about the paper he had published, Prison & Prevention, in his role at the Institute of Public Policy Research. His talk was really informative and definitely gave the agencies food for thought. Have a look at the paper and let us know what you think!
All representatives agreed that communication between agencies was key, we should be working on collaboration and eradicating duplication of services.
With this in mind campaign4change is actively trying to set up a data hub that can be utilised by all agencies whereby information can be shared so that clients can be effectively processed without repeatedly being sent to different organisations and being asked the same questions. This is something that we're investigating further with Proactive Kent.
The positive vibe in the room was fantastic and it was great to hear that all agencies had the same motivation to help, change peoples lives and to treat clients respectfully and professionally.
We are definitely moving in the right direction and we have already been approached by six more agencies to hold another forum, which we will do very soon!
We can offer training in social injustice reporting here at Campaign4Change. Get in touch for further details and should you require to get involved with next agency forum let us know.
